Christmas 2021 Message
2021 has been an exciting year for the Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong which saw the Chamber formally established in April 2021. CCC HK has since firmly established itself amongst Hong Kong’s Chambers of Commerce with a website, online social media presence, webinars, a high profile breakfast event and a well-attended social Christmas drinks party.
Our 2021 online and physical events in summary were:
Ghana, Gateway to Africa: opportunities for Hong Kong businesses, a webinar on how Ghana is one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa. Apart from natural resources, including gold, oil, aluminium and cocoa, it is increasingly a “new service economy”, with young entrepreneurs taking advantage of a business-friendly environment to pursue opportunities in fintech, entertainment and virtual tourism.
Commonwealth Social Enterprises in Hong Kong touched on the role social enterprises play in supporting underprivileged groups, tackling social problems via commercial means, and building a community of harmony through the provision of community services in Hong Kong.
Pakistani Tech Startups, a platform to hear about vibrant Pakistani startups and their exciting businesses. The panel for this webinar showcases uptrending and dynamic Pakistani startups.
Future opportunities for a historical partnership focused on the opportunities for expanding business and investment between Pakistan and Hong Kong.
We are looking forward to an active and exciting 2022 with an original, vibrant and diverse range of events, activities and debates. The Commonwealth is a diverse, dynamic community of 53 nations and 27 associated territories spanning the globe with:
60% of the Commonwealth’s population are 30 years and under
2.6 billion Individuals living in Commonwealth countries
$13 trillion (USD) combined GDP of all Commonwealth member countries
In 2022, we will build on the small but significant steps taken in our first few months in 2021 and we look forward to more diversity, more debate, more views and voices from a Commonwealth perspective!
